At certain dates we run special programs that differ from our standart offerings by the individual planning. Also we organize your journey according to your wishes at the desired date.
In the valley of the first settlers (always in November):
On all our rides we cross the huge catchment area of the Rio Turbio, which feeds on four glaciers. The old-established settlers, however, we usually greet only briefly from the horse, because the route leads us to the remote corners and we are all set on camp life. In the spring we have now planned a tour in which we are guest of one of these settlers to experience the tradition of Patagonian pioneers and Gaucho culture. From this base, we explore the fascinating world of the Rio Turbio in the middle of the Patagonian Andes in 1 to 3 day-rides. We stay in guest rooms, refugios or tents. The design of your stay will be discussed individually.

Autumn program (end of March / April)
The high season here is between December and February. Then it's summer, the days are the longest and we plan our tours according to schedule. However, the late season from end-March to mid-April is, in our opinion, the best time to ride through the Patagonian mountains: the sun shines mildly and often with golden light. The landscape changes her dress and the protagonists of the Patagonian tourism are relaxed. This is our insider tip and we are happy to organize a spontaneous "Golden Trails" tour with you.

Logistic support
If you are planning a longer trip in South America and you would like to enter the culture of the New World in a special setting, you would like to get to know Rincón de Lobos at a time other than our agenda, or do you need logistic support during an expedition in this region, then contact us without obligation.
We are happy to advise you and can offer you a kind of "crash course" on the gaucho's craft: dealing with local pack and saddle gear, riding in difficult terrain (5-day trekking in the el Turbio area). Help with the purchase of bridles and saddlery, maps (from Bariloche to El Chalten we have all military maps along the Andes in PDF format).
Note: When buying horses we are happy to help but without liability: The topic is not very easy, because also here nobody sells his best horse. There are many horses offered, but you have to decide on the spot. We can consult in advance with the local population and accompany you with the purchase.
