Description

This ultimate tour leads us into the huge, almost civilization-free catchment area of the Rio Turbió, which is fed by four glaciers. Along mule paths, on which the Gauchos drive their cattle into the valleys since generations, we cross several high passes of the Andes, traverse the Patagonian jungle and put over mighty rivers. We camp near by lonely mountain lakes, fish rainbow trout, cook at camp fire and sleep in tents, mountain huts or under the starry stars.

The 10-day journey is divided into two target stages. On the one hand, it leads over various passages to the turquoise Lago Esperanza, which lies on the border with Chile within a private nature reserve. On the other hand, to the Cerro Plataforma, a geological singularity where the seafloor has risen up 50 to 30 million years ago by volcanic processes to a huge, fossil-strewn, high plateau (about 1700 meters above sea level). The ascent of the monumental formation gives the impression of landing on a foreign planet.

Pristine nature and challenging equestrian experiences await you: river crossings, waterfalls, glaciers and explorations of the Selva Valdiviana, the Andes forest with bamboo reed forests and the mythical, up to 3000 year old Alerce trees are on the program.

Requirement
This tour has expedition character. After two shorter rides, which serves for the horse allocation and introduction to the local riding customs, we are 10 days traversing on on mule tracks a nearly deserted region. Participants should be reasonably fit for the saddle, mastering all common gaits as walk, trott and cantar. In addition, a good physical and mental condition as well as team spirit, personal responsibility and readiness to participate in camping – daily life (cooking, washing dishes, setting up tents, etc.) are expected.

Board and lodging
During the tours tents (2 persons per tent) are available for our guests. On the days in between, accommodation will be in group rooms (2-4 pers.) Or in our charming yurt. It is also possible to move into an independent Cabaña (bungalow). A detailed description can be found under the own menu item:
